Health Opportunities
Cameroon, a driving force in Central Africa with a population of approximately 21.143 million inhabitants, a population growth rate of 2.6%, an area of 475,650 km² and a nominal GDP estimated at CFAF 14,607 billion in 2014 , represents enormous potential for any investment that wants to be profitable in all sectors of activity in general and in the health sector in particular, particularly in terms of the renewal of health infrastructure on the one hand, training health personnel with modern techniques in the field as well as the supply of advanced equipment for improving the technical platform and the quality of care on the other hand.
According to the WHO, German cooperation is intervening through GTZ and KFW in the process of setting up the health SWAp, the fight against HIV / AIDS and other interventions.
GTZ supports the extension of regional health promotion funds in 7 regions, within the framework of institutional support. KFW finances health infrastructure and medical equipment, as part of the rehabilitation of four regional and similar hospitals, and supports the program to improve primary health care and the reproductive health program in northern regions -West, Southwest and Coastline. German cooperation is also involved in the development of the essential drugs program, the sharing of the disease risk, the quality of care and services, and the contractual approach to developing the health system in the same regions.
